Opening of a mountain-skiing season in Squaw Valley
JumpIn honour of celebrating of opening of 60th season North American resort Squaw Valley, in the last weekend has presented to skiers fresh snow and a unique show — first-ever B.A.S.E. jump from a rope-way.

Ceremonial jump

The jump has been executed by the well-known native of Squaw Valley, JT Holmes.

Following readout which was scanned by crowd of spectators below, Holmes has jumped from a roof of a carriage of a pendular rope-way. The height from a carriage to an earth surface made about 90 m.

Just the day before on a resort has dropped out an order of fresh snow of 20 sm that has allowed to open the big territory, than it was planned, and Holmes's jump has involved very many visitors.

50th anniversary of Winter Olympic Games

In this season of Squaw Valley celebrates at once two significant dates: 60th anniversary of the creation and the first season 1949/50, and also 50th anniversary of the eighth Olympic Games, which Squaw Valleys accepted in 1960.
