Inför helgens Paris-resa hittade jag ett tips om den naturhistoriska butiken Deyrolle. Å herregud vad glad jag är att vi besökte den!! Vilken guldgruva. Lite makabert var det allt att se alla dessa uppstoppade djur, men samtidigt oerhört fascinerande.. Giraff, isbjörn, panter, leopard, piggsvin, you name it! Tyvärr fick man inte fotografera i butiken, så bilderna har jag hittat på deras hemsida. Jag skulle kunna skriva en hel uppsats om besöket.. I ett av rummen fanns tusen och åter tusentals av coola insekter och vackra fjärilar i all världens färger. Butiken har funnits sedan 1831 och är världskänd. År 2008 brann den till stor del ner och har sedan, tack vare eldsjälar och donationer, varsamt byggts upp igen. Vi köpte med oss hem en fin blå fjäril i en svart liten box man kan hänga på väggen och en bok med bilder från branden. Hemsidan är väl värd ett besök, men butiken måste besökas och ses med egna ögon.
Before our trip to Paris I found a tip about a naturalhistory-shop, Deyrolle. My good, I'm happy we payed it a visit!! What a treasure. Perhaps a bit macabre to see all the stuffed animals, but still beautiful in a way.. Giraffe, polar bear, leopard, porcupine, you name it! Unfortunately photography wasn't allowed, so the pictures are from their website. Deyrolle started in 1831 and is known around the world. In 2008 there a fire damaged large parts, but thanks to many fans, the shop is now as beautiful as ever. I got myself a beautiful blue butterfly in a black box to put on the wall, and a book with pictures from the fire. The website is worth a visit, but the store has to be seen in real life!
