Lake Tahoe long before the Olympic Games of 1960 was well-known, but not as the center of ski rest. Development of skis on southern coast went slowly, because during winter time was absent the transport message between two states. And only after the Second World War the area has started to change.

In the book «The Mountain Sea. A History of Lake Tahoe» the local Dr. Lyndall B. Landauer has told that the 1st suitable tracks for ski races have been opened soon after the end of war.

The next years, thanks to big financial influences, the ski area continues to develop intensively, more harmonious and comfortable infrastructure, thus all useful actions should involve fans of winter sports from all countries of the World.

Squaw Valley is considered area of difficult and abrupt driving. It the most esteemed place of the US Snowboard Team — because of more variety of a lobby and rocky exits.
