2011 TED Prize Winner: JR
I was really inspired reading the article in the New York Times this morning about French street artist, JR. The anonymous artist just received the 2011 TED Prize. The annual $100,00 prize has been awarded to Bill Clinton and Bono so it's interesting (and pretty cool) that they would award it to someone whose identity is unknown. The photos above are from his "Women" project where he pasted giant expressive photos of women in Africa, India, Rio, and Cambodia. He usually works in slums and neighborhoods on the verge of being destroyed, lending a human face to suffering. Beautiful.
